The Illinois State Military Museum, the Air Combat Museum, the Oak Ridge Cemetery and various museums and memorials in the capital city are devoted to honoring Illinois veterans.

Springfield is host city to Camp Lincoln, Camp Butler and National Guard posts for the Army and Air Force. The hometown and final resting place of Commander-in-Chief Abraham Lincoln, the brand new Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and a number of Lincoln-related sites from throughout his lifetime offer outstanding venues for any military group.
